Guiding principles :

1) everything on one page

2) design that stands out /aesthetics (engaging, healthy, contrasting colors) (logical flow from left to right - daily rroutine)

3) ease of use (smythsown stitching, ribbon, putting the date on a side that's easy to see when paging through - same as unique questions and day numbers at the bottoms.

4) anatomy of writing Making sure writing spaces are at the middle and top, and leaving easy to fill out items for the bottom

paper weight - not too heavy, not too light
creating a visual representation of a beginning, middle, and ending of a day

Putting into a mobile app:

Designing for print is very different from designing from a mobile UI. Not only in interactivity but even the platfrom itself. I wanted to preserve the sense of identity but didn't want to be too literal.

for this first basic version I did skip features such as scheduling and prompts.

I decided to introduce icons in order to create visual differentiation and add interest

I kept the layout diverse in order to create easy spatial recognition and sense of location. Also I didn't want it to matter whether sections were filled sequentially or not.

Ease of access to prior dates

States: empty vs. filled
